Loss of Neck Curve: The Source of Neck and Back Pain

Wondering what the source of your mysterious neck and back pain might be?  It turns out that the curve in your neck might be causing those aches and pains – or rather, the loss of a healthy neck curve. The loss of a cervical curve – also known as cervical kyphosis – is a condition that’s caused by bad posture. Everyone should have a curve in their neck, as it helps keep the body balanced.  What’s more, this small curve helps the head stay balanced on top of the spine, thus preventing it from falling forward.  When a person slouches or juts their head too far forward, the curve is diminished. This can cause significant strain and pain for the neck muscles. In some severe causes, this can even cause paralysis.

When bad posture is maintained for too long, this leads to the development of cervical kyphosis. This condition describes the process that occurs when the neck curve begins to straighten. In some causes, the neck curve can actually reverse, causing significant spinal issues.

How do you know if you have cervical kyphosis?  Take a look at the following symptoms:

- Chronic neck pain

- Headaches

- Reduced range of motion in the neck

- Weakness in the arms and legs

- Loss of grip strength

- Difficulty walking

- Difficulty with bladder and bowels

- From the side, your ear canal does not line up with your shoulder

In extreme cases, paralysis from the neck down can occur. If you suspect you have cervical kyphosis, it’s important to make an appointment with a chiropractor. During this appointment, your chiropractor can take X-rays, go through a physical examination, and perform other tests to determine your diagnosis and, if necessary, your treatment options.

That’s precisely where the Posture Pump® Dual Disc Hydrator® comes into play! Posture Pump® shapes and restores the cervical curve, which is vital to maintaining good posture. • […] EED® was invented and patented by Posture Pump®.  Under EED®, high level joint separation is achieved by expansion of elliptical shaped air cells into the curves of the spine (neck & back).  As EED® occurs, bulging disc material is drawn toward the nucleus pulposus and away from the spinal cord and nerves.  This unique action aligns joints in a curved shape while increasing disc height in a ratio corresponding to the disc’s natural wedged shape. Expansion and contraction of these air cells create alternating hydration and milking of the discs.  Longer expansion periods are employed for posture restoration. It is no longer necessary to forcefully pry the head from the body, pull the posterior joints apart and remove the vital curves of the neck and back.  These spinal curves are essential. […]

is there any ways to cure this neck problem by eating some nutritional food ?

Eating a nutritional diet is always best for overall health. Eating nutrients do not provide nutrients to the disc though. When the spine has lost its curved shape, the discs are compressed and rich lubricating fluid is unable to penetrate. This causes premature aging in the form of stiff dry joints. When the spine is properly curved, nutrient-rich fluid is “imbibed” or drawn into the discs by Posture Pumps® “sponge-like bellows action,” promoting spinal balance and joint health.

I've had severe pain in my neck and back along with down into my shoulders and chest. Some days I can't turn my head at all and unless I stayed laid down then I will get a severe headache. I've had facet injections that just helped for a couple days, a rhizotomy that left more accurate pain for 6 months and tomorrow I'm suppose to get an epidermal to try turning get some relief. I pray that it doesn't do what the rhizotomy did to where I couldn't sit up with out falling over and I walked sideways for a week. I'm really scared

Hi, I was recently examined due to sudden muscle weakness with muscle spasms. I also have been getting sever pain in my neck that causes a migraine. About 3 years ago I had a X-ray which determines I have straightening of the neck with spasms. Could this because my sever migraines and weakness. Or is it like my doctor said possible fluid leaking from the brain?

Is this safe to use when the C spine is completely fused (naturally, not surgically)?
Also, with DISH of the C spine?

      Hi Bebe,

To err on the side of caution, we'd strongly recommend consulting with your Doctor to verify 100% that Posture Pump® is right for you. Typically, we do not recommend Posture Pump® to those who are fused, but your Doctor may determine that we're a good fit. Feel free to show him/her our website: www.posturepump.com, and give us a call at 1-800-632-5776 if you have any questions. We're happy to help!
